Kessler and Giel Become Techs First Ever Four-Time All-SSC Members

ORLANDO, Fla.–Senior partners’ Keith
Kessler
(Brooklyn, New York) and Clifford
Giel
(Savaneta, Aruba) were named for the fourth consecutive year to the Sunshine State Conference All-Conference Team. For the first time,
after three year’s of making the second team for doubles the pair were named to the All-SSC First Team. Kessler was honored by making the first team for
the second time in his career, while Giel was named to the second team.

Six different Sunshine State Conference institutions were represented on the 2007 All-SSC Men’s Tennis team; it was announced today by Commissioner Michael
J. Marcil. Both player’s have broken numerous men’s program record in their four year campaigns. Cliff and Keith were recruited to help re-launch the men’s
tennis program after an eight hiatus as a sponsored sport at Florida Tech.

Kessler, 5 ’10 #2 singles player, is a graduate of Xaverian High School in Brooklyn, New York and the son of Lynn and Ed Kessler. Kessler played the #1
last season and has been the starting #1 doubles player for all four seasons. He is a Business Management major at Florida Tech. For his career he finished
with a 56-24 regular season singles record and 58-26 regular season doubles record including the Fall ’05 and ’06 season he is at 60-27 and 67-27 for
doubles.

He was named the 2006 and 2007 Florida Tech Scholar Athlete of the Year for Men’s Tennis as well as a three-time Florida Tech Athletic Director’s Honor
Roll Member. Kessler is also 2004, 2005 and 2007 SSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll member. He has been named SSC Player of the Week twice in his career and
named to the now defunct SSC Commissioner’s List of Outstanding Achievement four times in 2005 and 2006. Finally he was named 2007 All SSC First Team, 2006
All SSC Second Team, 2005 All SSC First Team in singles and 2007 All SSC First Team, 2006, 2005 & 2004 All SSC Second Team in Doubles.

Cliff Giel is a 6’0” senior member of the men’s tennis team and has played the #1 singles for three year’s along with a four year starter at the #1
doubles. He hails from Savaneta, Aruba and is the son of Ruben and Elaine Giel a graduate of Saddlebrook Prep in Tampa. He is a Civil Engineering Major
along with a four-time All SSC member in both Singles and Doubles and was the 2004 SSC Freshman of the Year. For his career, he has a 49-27 singles record
and a 59-24 for spring play, while he garners a 52-31 singles and 68-25 doubles all time record including his Fall season play.

He was named 2007 Florida Tech Male Athlete-of-the-Year; 2007 All-SSC Second Team for Singles and First Team for Doubles; 2007 SSC Player of the Week, 2006
All-SSC Second Team for Singles and Doubles; 2006 SSC Player of the Week; 2006 SSC Commissioner’s List of Outstanding Achievement for the months of
February, March and April; 2005 All-SSC Second Team for Singles and Doubles; 2004 SSC Male Freshman Tennis Player of the Year; 2004 SSC Honorable Mention;
2004 All-SSC Second Team for Doubles; 2004 SSC Player of the Week; 2005 SSC Commissioner’s List of Outstanding Achievement for March.

The pair have a remarkable .728 doubles winning percentage for their career. Individually, Cliff holds the doubles record with a .731 winning percentage at
68-25, while Keith is close at hand with a .712 winning percentage at 67-27. Kessler holds the top spot for the singles record .770 winning percentage and
Giel is at a career .626 winning percentage.
