TechXpo Coming Oct. 3 to Melbourne Airport Location

Florida Tech to Sponsor, Showcase Programs and Research Park

MELBOURNE, FLA. — TechXpo, the annual technology event set for Oct. 3, has a new location in 2014 but the same focus: allowing companies with advanced technologies and innovations the opportunity to present their products and services to other companies that may be looking for resources and suppliers.

The fourth-annual TechXpo, presented by the Melbourne Regional Chamber of East Central Florida, will be held for the first time at the MidAir USA production facility at 100 Aerospace Drive at Melbourne International Airport. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Florida Institute of Technology is one of the event sponsors. The university will showcase its academic programs, the Florida Tech Research Park at Melbourne airport, its F.I.T. Aviation program, Continuing Education and more.

In general, the expo will present the region’s top technology firms in areas such as energy, aerospace, robotics, simulation, aviation, transportation, electronics, defense, 3D printing and medical technologies. As many as 70 technology and manufacturing companies from across Florida and the nation are expected to participate.

TechXpo coincides with Manufacturing Day, and a separately-ticketed luncheon scheduled for 1:15-2:45 p.m. Oct. 3 at the MidAirUSA facility will feature a panel of manufacturers, including Embraer and MidAir USA, as well as the Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast. Tickets are $25 per person. Prior to the lunch, attendees may even catch a glimpse of the USAF Thunderbirds practicing in preparation for the Melbourne Air & Space Show Oct. 4-5.

Also in conjunction with TechXpo, the TechNovation Awards Banquet presented by Embraer will be held from 6-9 p.m. Oct. 2 at the Hilton Melbourne Beach Oceanfront. Awards in technology will be presented by Congressman Bill Posey’s office recognizing significant local achievements in technology.

Registration, ticket sales and sponsorship information is available at www.FloridaTechXpo.com. Hall access $10 per person. It is free for Florida Tech students and faculty with valid school ID.
