Kohler Places 2nd in 2006 NIU Snowbird Intercollegiate

TAMPA, Fla.-Florida Tech’s freshmen Natalie Kohler (Johannesburg, South Africa) and Daniela Iacobelli (Melbourne, Florida) finish in the top twenty out of
91 entrees and fifteen schools. Kohler tied for second place shooting 5-over-par for the tournament. Kohler shot a two round score of 149 with a first
round score of 76 and a final round of one over for 73.  Iacobelli placed tied for 11th at 78-76 for 154 at the Northern Illinois University women’s
golf tournament at the Pebble Creek Country Club.

The Panthers notched 8th place with a 36-hole score of 638 for the two day event which fielded 15 teams. Division I Bradley University grabbed the top
honors with a tournament best finish at 609. Bradley’s own Megan LeBlanc was the medalist shooting par at 144 with a 75 on day one and a low round 69 on
the final 18 holes. A total of 11 schools are Division I members and only two Sunshine State Conference institutions were in the field for DII schools
including Florida Tech and Saint Leo.

Tech finished tied for 8th place with a team score of 638, while Saint Leo placed 15th in the last spot shooting 707 for the tournament.

Head Coach Janie Farina was extremely pleased with her team and how they placed in the Division I tournament.

Other Panthers included junior Ericka Hildreth (Cocoa Beach, Florida) who shot 84-83 for 167 tied for 56th place and senior Natalia Reiman (Wanham,
Alberta, Canada) rounded out the team with an 82-86 for 168 for 61st place only one shot over Hildreth’s finish.

Junior Toni Whaley (Battle Creek, Michigan) did not finish and withdrew from the field.
