Learn About Patents and Patenting at Florida Tech Workshop
– Florida Tech’s TechStart will hold a four-session workshop on patents and patenting on four consecutive Thursdays, starting Oct. 28. Each session meets
from 6:15 to 8:30 p.m., on campus, in the F.W. Olin Life Sciences Building, Room 130.
The workshop may be attended on a per-session basis. The first three evenings cost $30 each; evening four costs $50. A fee of $125 signs up participants
for all four sessions.
The patenting topics covered include: Oct. 28 – The Patenting Process; Nov. 4 – Understanding a Patent Publication; and Nov. 11 – Drafting Patent
Applications. The fourth session is Interactive Patent Search Skills and will be scheduled for those participating in the first three sessions. This
computer lab experience facilitates searches on the United States Patent Office Website and other searches pertinent to individual needs.
The first three sessions will be led by Dr. Carl Napolitano, a licensed patent agent with Allen, Dyer, Doppelt, Milbrath & Gilchrist, P.A. in Orlando.
