Making the Workplace a “Safe Place”

For years, domestic violence was a subject that wasn’t discussed. It was an uncomfortable topic for many and we’ve all heard those that simply would say, “it’s not my business.” Thankfully, today we’ve made some strides and have vocal advocates and organizations that assist those affected by domestic violence.

There are many recognizable signs to determine when someone is in a domestic violence situation. For those affected by domestic violence, work is often their “safe place,” and if there is someone to listen, it is possible these victims may trust employers and work colleagues to help them.
