MELBOURNE, Fla. (men’s soccer)- Today was another tough loss for the Florida Tech Panthers to swallow after opening up the game scoring the first goal in
the first minute of play. The Panthers were unable to take their momentum into the rest of the game falling 3-1 against Webber International today at the
Rick Stottler Field.
Heat was definitely the name of the game today with the weather proving to be extremely humid while the action on the field was heated as well with eight
cards being thrown along with 21 fouls for the match. Tech had the edge on fouls with 14 to Webber’s seven, while two players from each teams were ejected
from the game on a double red card decision.

clock. Gilletti found the back of the net off a cross from the left side from sophomore teammate Edward Oyarce (Miami, Fla.).
Webber retaliated and scored the tying goal and the winning goal all in the first half. In the thirty-fourth minute the Warriors’ junior defender Dominic
Rivans (Westward Ho, England) headed the ball off a corner kick by freshman David Wahlberg (Skanor, Sweden). The game decider came five minutes later, when
sophomore defender Lewis Ringman (Cardiff, Wales) shot a solo blast from the right side past the “Tech Wall” off a free kick.
The insurance goal came in the second half for the Warriors off another corner kick attempt. Rivans again found the back of the net after sophomore
defender Craig Curtis (Oxford, England) grabbed the ball off a deflection from the Panthers keeper.
Sophomore goalie Cory Collins (Melbourne, Fla.) suffered the loss allowing three goals on five shots on goal. Senior key reservist Temidayo Apena (Lagos,
Nigeria) prevented the Warriors from scoring four for the afternoon after blocking an open net shot recording one of the two saves for the match.
