Men’s Soccer Heads to 2006 Men’s SSC Tournament as the #4 Seeded Team

ORLANDO, Fla. (men’s soccer)–Pairings have been set for the quarterfinal round of the 2006 Sunshine State Conference Men’s Soccer Championship which will
begin on Friday, October 27 and run through Sunday, October 29 on the campus of Rollins College in Winter Park.

Rollins College will be the #1 seed, while Barry University will be the #2 seed. As the top two seeds, the Tars and Buccaneers will receive
quarterfinal-round byes in the six-team championship tournament.

Two quarterfinal matches will be played on Friday, as #4 Florida Tech and #5 Tampa will meet at 3:00 p.m. for the right to face top-seeded Rollins in the
semifinals Saturday at 3:00 p.m., while #3 Florida Southern will play #6 Nova Southeastern at 12:00 p.m., with the winner advancing to meet Barry in the
semifinals Saturday at 12:00 p.m. The semifinal winners will play Sunday at 2:00 p.m.

Florida Tech comes in with the advantage over Tampa after beating them in regular season 4-to-3 on the road. Tech has had a great final stretch winning and
tying their last three games including defeating SSC foe Eckerd 2-to-1, tying regionally ranked and SSC opponent Nova Southeastern 2-2 in double
overtime, and defeating regional opponent Palm Beach Atlantic 3-2 all on the road.

The participating teams, seeds and host site for the 2006 SSC Men’s Soccer Championship were adjusted to reflect five institutions being required to
forfeit some or all men’s conference games due to student-athletes participating while ineligible under NCAA Division II rules. Institutions that were
required to forfeit men’s conference games will have an asterisk placed next to their conference and overall record, as indicated in the SSC men’s soccer
standings that appear below.
