Miserendino Donates Sea of Stars to Florida Tech

– Cocoa Beach resident Morris Miserendino has donated a series of nine prints painted by his niece, contemporary artist Denise Devone, to Florida Institute
of Technology. The prints, titled, ” Sea of Stars , Astropelagoes III,” represent the life cycle of man, the use of simple machines and the view of earth
from space.

Miserendino said he hopes the gift will provide artistic inspiration to students normally focused on engineering, aviation or the hard sciences.

“Students learn when the material is meaningful; this requires interest, identity, and belongingness,” Miserendino said. “This artwork gives students
another way to view the world and enhances their educational experience.” The prints will be displayed in the Miller Administration Building . Devone’s
work will also be on highlighted at the Central Brevard Library and Reference Center in Cocoa through the end of December.
