Pi Lambda Phi Receives National Awards

MELBOURNE, FLA. — Florida Tech’s Delta Upsilon chapter of Pi Lambda Phi International Fraternity earned five awards at the Pi Lambda Phi 111th International
Convention. It was held recently in Cincinnati, Ohio.
First, the chapter earned a Certificate of Achievement Award for Outstanding Recruitment during the 2005-2006 academic year. The chapter had pledged 14 new
members, which brought total chapter membership to 40.
Second, the chapter also won a Certificate of Achievement Award for Outstanding Scholarship. This honored the chapter’s achievement of two consecutive
semesters earning the highest fraternity grade point average (GPA) at Florida Tech.
The third chapter award was a Certificate of Achievement for Outstanding Community Service and Philanthropy. This recognized the chapter’s work to raise
more than $700 in a single month for the March of Dimes, the official philanthropy of Pi Lambda Phi.
Additionally, the chapter earned two certificates of recognition for outstanding services performed by an undergraduate. Earning these were James
Mordarski, current Upsilon president, and Jeffrey French, past chapter president.
