Mocs Take Panthers 3-0 In SSC Volleyball Action
LAKELAND, Fla.–Fourteenth-ranked Florida Southern extended its current winning streak to four straight matches with a 30-24, 30-26, 30-13, Sunshine State
Conference win over Florida Tech on Saturday at Jenkins Field House. The win raised the Moccasins’ record to 16-2, 3-1 in the SSC. Florida Tech
fell to 4-12, 0-5 in the SSC.
Beverly Stasis led FSC with 15 kills and had four of the Moccasins’ nine service aces, while Danielle Durham hit .455 for the match, producing her sixth
double-double of the season with 11 kills and 10 digs. Daryl Baby had a team-high 16 digs and Jordan McAfee tallied 34 assists.
Jenny Hart, Leigh Ann Brown, and Kelly Currin each had seven kills for the Panthers. Hart hit .429 for the match and Brown hit .545. Brenna
Lane led the Panthers in digs with 10 and Natasha Bender handed out 17 assists. As a team, the Moccasins hit .264 for the match, while the Panthers
hit .059.
The Moccasins play at Eckerd Wednesday night at 7 p.m. The Panthers play at home next Friday at 7 p.m. against Tampa.
