MELBOURNE, FLA. — Thea Rusch is the new collections manager for the Ruth Funk Center for Textile Arts at Florida Institute of Technology.
She will manage the care and preservation of Florida Tech’s international collection of textiles by ensuring proper handling, storage, cataloging,
conservation and exhibition techniques.
Rusch reports to Carla Funk, director of Fine Arts Programs in the Department of Humanities and Communication. “Thea will be integral to the exciting
process of moving the textile arts collection into its new building in 2009,” said Funk.
Rusch earned a bachelor’s degree with honors in textiles design and conservation from the University of Texas at Austin. She also studied textile design at
Denmark’s Design School in Copenhagen.
