New Florida Tech Course Gives Vision to Those Interested in Ophthalmology Field

MELBOURNE, FLA.—Florida Institute of Technology’s Continuing Education department, on Sept. 4, will launch a new beta prep program for those interested in applying to take the exam to become a Certified Ophthalmology Assistant.

Participants will learn the basics of ophthalmology, how to quantify vision in a patient, how to gather and document patient medical history, how to perform visual fields and other subject matter necessary to prepare for the JCAHPO COA exam.

The beta program, which lasts six months, is divided into six courses, each a month long. Each course contains unit exams to prepare for a cumulative comprehensive final examination given at the end of the last course.
