Next Florida Tech Humanities Lecture Explores Prehistoric Snowbirds

MELBOURNE, FLA. — The next presentation in Florida Tech’s Humanities Lecture Series is Prehistoric Snowbirds. It will be on campus, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m., in the
Hartley Room, Denius Student Center. Admission is free.

The presentation looks at the fact that we are not the first people to realize the wonders of Southern Florida; people have lived in the area for more than
10,000 years. Presenter Michele Williams, Ph.D., invites us to “come learn about these prehistoric snowbirds and the evidence they left as they made
seasonal rounds throughout the United States.”

Williams is the director and terrestrial archaeologist for the Southeastern Region of Florida Public Archaeology Network at Florida Atlantic University.

The presentation, part of Florida Tech’s Humanities Lecture Series, is open and free to the public. For more information, call (321) 674-8082.
