Next Museum Monday at Foosaner Art Museum Features Abstract Art, Feb. 25

MELBOURNE, FLA.—The Foosaner Art Museum, Florida Institute of Technology, features Museum Monday on Feb. 25, at 10 a.m., in the Harris Community Auditorium. The event features Irene Neal, an abstract painter whose studio is in Merritt Island.

Neal, inspired by the tradition of Jackson Pollock and the Abstract Expressionism movement, reinterprets this tradition by using new, state-of-the-art acrylic paints and gel medium. Experimenting with new materials, she reveals beauty through the coalescence of liquefied color.

After graduating from Wilson College in Chambersburg, Pa., in 1958, Neal lived, worked and studied in Brazil, Portugal, Argentina and Puerto Rico for the next 16 years. She has exhibited her works in museums and galleries worldwide, including New York, Paris, Canada, Brazil and the Czech Republic.

Museum Monday is a community outreach program that focuses on art and creativity. Each free program is held on the fourth Monday of the month, January through May. Light refreshments are served.
