Florida Tech Falls to Nova Southeastern in Women’s Tennis

MELBOURNE, Fla. — The home courts did not provide much advantage for the Florida Tech women’s tennis team, which dropped a 9-0 decision to Sunshine State
Conference rival Nova Southeastern University, the 12th-ranked team in NCAA Division II.

Nova Southeastern (13-3 overall, 4-2 SSC) jumped out to an early 3-0 advantage, capturing all three doubles matches and losing just three total games in
doubles play.

Florida Tech sophomore Michaela Horvathova (Bratislavia, Slovakia) captured the Panthers’ only set of the match, claiming a 6-2 victory in the first set of
her #1 singles match against sophomore Alexa Koretkevich (St. Petersburg, Russia). Koretkevich went on to capture the second set 6-0 and also claimed the
tiebreaker 10-2.

Panthers junior Belen Pandre (Buenos Aries, Argentia) won the most games of any Florida Tech singles player, taking five games in a 6-3, 6-2 loss to
freshman Ulia Talalenko (Naples, Fla.) at the #2 singles position.

Freshman Nicole David (Fort Pierce, Fla.) and sophomore Amanda Rohrbach (Jefferson City, Mo) captured one game apiece at the #3 and #6 singles positions,
respectively.

Florida Tech (2-14 overall, 1-6 SSC) returns to the court on Monday, March 27, when they face the University of Delaware at 1:00 p.m.
