7 Reasons to Consider Florida Universities
Florida is one of the top vacation destinations in the United States. Many people want to spend time in the Sunshine State, including college students. Here are the top reasons to consider Florida universities for your education.
1. Warm weather during the winter months.
When the Northeast is knee-deep in the fifth snowstorm of the winter, chances are Floridians will be visiting the beach in their shorts, tank tops and bathing suits.
“Cold” in Florida is still generally t-shirt weather and the beaches are beautiful even in January. You won’t have to shovel snow or rake leaves and scarves are a fashion accessory rather than a way to keep out icy winds.
2. The variety of landscapes.
Florida isn’t just all beaches – there are woods, hiking trails, lakes and many other scenic locations that can satisfy the need for different kinds of activities and destinations. From Walt Disney World to Miami Beach, the state is big enough to encompass any kind of warm-weather wish you could have while attending one of Florida’s universities. 6. The Everglades ecosystem.
Florida’s Everglades represents the largest subtropical wetland ecosystem in North America. There are more types of animals and plants in Florida than any other state, and a large number of them are located in the Everglades.
7. Low taxes.
Florida has no state income tax, so if you live there, you won’t have to give up any of your work study earnings to the state government. Cost of living is also pretty reasonable. Who knows? You may decide to come to Florida for college and end up living there on a more permanent basis.
