Outstanding Junior and Senior Named at Florida Tech

– At Florida Tech’s annual Honors Convocation, Michelle Prell, a 2000 graduate of Gibbs High School in St. Petersburg, Fla., was named Outstanding Junior;
Eric Zimney, a 1998 graduate of Meridian High School in Boise, Idaho, was named Outstanding Senior.

Prell, a psychology major with a 4.0 grade point average, was also named the Outstanding Junior from the School of Psychology. She is current president of
Psi Chi, the national honor society in psychology, has also been president of the Undergraduate Psychology Student Association at Florida Tech, is on the
National Dean’s List and is a professional dancer. Prell will spend this summer in a clinical psychology internship at Alternative Treatment International
Inc. in Clearwater, Fla.

Zimney, a double major, also took honors twice, as the Outstanding Senior in the Department of Mathematical Sciences and in the Department of Mechanical
and Aerospace Engineering. He will begin work toward a master’s degree at Northwestern University, under a Walter P. Murphy Fellowship.

The Outstanding Junior and Senior award winners are chosen by a faculty committee from among the Outstanding Junior and Senior awardees within each
academic area.
