Audubon Society to Meet at Florida Tech, Present Photos

MELBOURNE, FLA. — Rudy Gelis, naturalist guide and tour leader to South America, will be the special guest speaker at the Space Coast Audubon Society’s
April general meeting on April 20 at 7:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Florida Tech Life Sciences Building auditorium on University Blvd. in
Melbourne. The meeting is open to the public.
Gelis is also a researcher of bird behavior in cloud forests, high Andean forests, lowland Amazonian rainforests and the dry coastal forests of Ecuador and
Peru. He is co-author of a soon-to-be-published book of fine art photography, Plumas: Birds in Ecuador. He is currently stationed at the Yanayacu
Biological Station in Cosanga, Ecuador.
“His presentation will include many great bird photos and is titled “Nature of Ecuador,” said Sarah Linney, Space Coast Audubon Society president. “He will
show some of the finest photos of mainland South America that anyone is likely to see.”
