Panther Men Suffer Second Heartbreaker in a Row Losing 76-73 to Barry

MELBOURNE, Fla.- Senior forward Titas Vainuskas (Vilnius, Lithuania) was looking for the big upset only to take another hard knock despite his game high 25
points and 14 rebounds. Vainauskas almost hit his double double before the buzzer in the first half putting up nine rebounds on his 17 points early on in
the game.

At under a minute left in the game the Panthers really seemed like they had this one licked with the 73-70 advantage at 31 seconds left to go,
but the big win was not to be on this particular night. The Barry Buccaneers (10-10, 3-7) came away with the three point victory after two bad possessions
by Florida Tech (3-17, 0-10).

The game was a high energy game with the lead see sawing twelve times through out the forty minutes. Tech’s 10 turnovers to Barry’s seven in the end would
prove to be heart-wrenching blow.

Senior Ryan Maultsby (Vero Beach, Fla.) chipped in 17 points while sophomore point guard E.J. Murray (Rockledge, Fla.) added 14 points and six assists.

From Barry junior Felipe Barrios (Miami, Fla.) led his team with 18 points. Three other Buccaneers scored in the double figures.

The Panthers will be back in action on Saturday, February 4th down at Nova Southeastern to play in their third SSC game of the week tipping off at
7:30 p.m. in Ft. Lauderdale. To listen live to the broadcast check out the link at www.fit.edu/athletics.
