PANTHER WOMEN IN 6th PLACE AFTER DAY ONE OF 2007 SSC GOLF CHAMPIONSHIPS

VIERA, Fla. — The #21 ranked Florida Tech men and the #2 ranked Lynn University women lead their fields after day one of the 2007 Sunshine State
Conference Golf Championships with the first 36-holes completed at the Duran Golf Club. After rough weather and a lengthy first 18 holes in the morning,
both the men’s and women’s teams managed to get their second round in better golfing conditions.

Host Florida Tech holding onto a one point lead with a 36-hole 603 (+27) score for the first day. Tampa stands just one shot back with a 604 (+28) for the
7127 yardage course. There is a three way tie for third place with #4 Barry, #10 Nova Southeastern and #11 Lynn all holding down a 607 two round score 31
shots over par. #2 Florida Southern is in 6th place shooting a 614 (+38), while Rollins shot 624 (+48) to claim the seventh spot. #18 Eckerd finished with
a 632 (+56) for the day edging the eighth spot. Rounding out the field was Saint Leo grabbing a two-round 633 (+57).

On the women’s side, Lynn fired off a 620 (+44) to hold a one stroke lead. #2 Rollins came back in the second round from a 319 to shoot a 302 to combine
for a 621 (+45). #8 Nova Southeastern had a low round of 294 in the second 18 holes to tally a 622 (+46) for third place. #1 ranked Florida Southern shot a
308 (+51) to grab the fourth place position for the day. #11 Barry finished the 36-holes at 318 (+67). Host Florida Tech shot 331 for the 5885 yardage
course 94 over par for the day. Saint Leo finished up the 36-holes with a team score of 356 (+142). Eckerd was unable to complete the 36 holes with a full
roster and did not finish as a team.

Senior Panther Anthony Klingensmith (Kissimmee, Fla.) leads the men’s field with a two-round low score of 144 for even Par. Klingensmith shot the low round
69 in the first 18 holes and came back to score a 75 in the second round. Freshman Fighting Knight Maha Haddioui (Agadir, Morocco) fired off a 149, five
over par, for a first round 75 and coming back for the final 18 to shoot a 75. Nova Southeastern’s Anne Sophie Friis (Vejle, Denmark) notched the second
round low score shooting 69 for a total 152 tied for 4th place.

Senior David D’Agostino (Melbourne, Fla.) is second for Tech currently tied for 8th place (77-74+151), while fellow senior Justin Regier (East Amherst, NY)
is tied for 13th place with a two round 152 (75-77). Senior Jeff Wittup (Calgary, Alberta) is fourth for the Crimson and Gray duffers tied for 24th
(80-76+156). Rounding out Tech’s line-up is junior Dan Moline (Duluth, Minn.) shot a first round 85 and due to a final decision on his second round is
currently tied for 35th with a possible second round DQ.

Leading Tech’s women is sophomore Daniela Iacobelli (Melbourne, Fla.) firing a 153 for the 36-holes (80-73) tied for 7th place nine over par. Senior Ericka
Hildreth (Cocoa Beach, Fla.) came back in the second round to take the #2 spot on her team and tied for 25th place (82-85+167). Freshman Stacey O’Hara
(Orlando, Fla.) is in 28th place by herself with an 87 first round and an 85 second round for a daily score of 172. Next for Tech is sophomore Natalie
Kohler (Johannesburg, South Africa) with a 178 (90-88) tied for 31st place. Rounding out the Panthers is freshman newcomer Tabitha Jones (Kernersville,
N.C.) despite a first round 142 came back to shave off 15 strokes in the second 36-holes for 127 tallying 269 for the day. Jones, who has only been playing
with the team for two months was able to notch her first birdie in the second round.

Tomorrow all seventeen teams will tee off at 8:00 a.m. for their final round of the 54 holes finishing off the 2007 SSC Golf Championships at the Duran
Golf Club. The awards ceremony will follow the final 18-holes naming the champions along with the top five individuals from both the men’s and women’s
fields.
