X-Culture: Gaining an Cultural Relativism Perspective

So far interacting with my teammates has been a very positive experience. I’m happy that we have a very dedicated, hard-working team. We’ve worked through some translation misunderstandings and other issues that are inherent to this kind of project, but I believe that we have a very strong team.

Over the last week we’ve assigned the work and been working to build a draft of the report to turn in by this Friday. So far most of the sections are completed, and we’re starting to put them together.

Working on this project has forced us all to think a little differently than we did before X-Culture. We have learned how to deal with different cultures, time zones and personalities and I think that we will be able to apply these skills in the real business world after graduation. This project forces us to abandon any remnant of ethnocentrism that may remain in us, forcing us to realize the words of Mahatma Ghandi , “no culture can live if it attempts to be exclusive.” This project shows us that we are all better when we work together and collaborate on a project.

I’m excited to see this project to completion and to see our final result. I have a lot of confidence that we will end up with a very solid report.
