Panthers Drop One to Bucs

MELBOURNE, Fla. (Women’s Basketball) – The Florida Tech Panthers dropped their first game of the season Saturday against the Buccaneers of
Barry. The 63-39 loss drops the Florida Tech record to 4-1 and 0-1 in the Sunshine State Conference.   The Panthers just came out flat after the road
trip to Miami Shores, Fla, but early on both teams struggled to put points on the board. Florida Tech pulled it together to gain the team’s largest lead of
the night, five points, with 14:42 left in the first half. After that though, the Bucs took over.   The Panthers did have a better shooting percentage
from the charity stripe as well as beyond the three-point line. Senior forward Casselle Russell led the team in rebounds with six and
joined freshman guard Lynisha
Nelson
for the team highs in points with eight.   Florida Tech will look to rebound in the team’s second game against Florida Memorial
University. The game will be at Miami Gardens, Fla. at 6 p.m. on Monday.   BOX SCORE
