Panthers Fall 89-66 against South Regional Opponent Valdosta State

VALDOSTA, Ga. — (men’s basketball)Florida Tech (4-8) unable to pull off the three-peat fell 89-66 to the Blazers of Valdosta State (9-3). The series
match-up against both teams is now at 7-4 with the Crimson and Gray Hoopsters pulling off wins in their prior two meetings including a 91-89 overtime
victory at home last year.

Coach Mims was not happy with the starting five’s first-half performance heading into the locker room down 43-to-21. Mims came out in the second half with
an entirely new line-up.

Only two Panthers saw more than twenty minutes of playing time including Tech’s leader for the night Jod Kelley (McCormick, S.C.). Kelley notched 10 points
with one shy of a double double pulling down nine boards. Freshman Justin Sedlak (Pezinik, Slovakia) tied Kelley with points chipping in ten as well for
the night.

Six man Ryan Ballard (Melbourne, Fla.) finished with nine points going a flawless 7-for-7 from the line. Also coming off the bench, senior Damian Clark
(Orange Park, Fla.) contributed eight points for his eleven minutes of play.

Tech’s albatross for the regional match-up was turnovers with the Panthers giving up 21 to the Blazers’ 12 for the night. Five Blazers’ scored in the
double figures with Ricky Coleman firing up his team with a game high 17 points.

Florida Tech will take a break for the holidays and will ring in the New Year while playing their final 2006 game facing Florida Gulf Coast on the road in
Ft. Myers. Tech will meet the Eagles on December 30 at a 7:30 p.m. tip-off.
