Panthers Fall in Tight Softball Action 1-0

WINTER PARK, Fla. (softball) — Junior Danielle Stanley (Grayson, Ga.) led all players for the game going 2-for-3 despite the tough conference loss falling
1-0 to the Tars of Rollins College. The game was a seven inning pitcher’s dual on both ends. Tech’s Stanley was the only batter on the day to notch
multiple hits and break up sophomore Nicole Anderson’s (Brandon, Fla.) no hitter for the Tars.

Tech’s starting hurler Amber West (Apopka, Fla.) suffered the late seventh inning loss despite throwing six scoreless innings. She is now 10-8 on the
season going 6.2 innings fanning two allowing four hits on only one earned run.

Anderson (16-5) picked up the lucky win after her last inning striking out nine while walking one and giving up two hits for game one of the three game
Sunshine State Conference series. The Tars’ Lauren Winney (Jacksonville, Fla.) smacked the lone RBI and brought home pinch runner Meghan Shaw (Aurora,
Col.) to win the game.

Florida Tech is now (30-16, 6-1) while Rollins heads into tomorrow’s double header (25-6, 4-1). The games begin at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
