Panthers Fall Short Against the Fighting Knights of Lynn University 71-57 in SSC Play

MELBOURNE, Fla. – Despite a one point deficit at halftime 34-33, the Panthers suffer their third straight loss and second consecutive Sunshine State
Conference loss with a final score of 71-57 to the Fighting Knights of Lynn University.

The game started off with Lynn scoring the first two buckets but the Panthers answered back with a made three pointer by E.J. Murray (Rockledge, Fla.) that
kept the game close. At the 14:48 mark and the game tied at 7-7, the Fighting Knights managed a 10-0 run to take the half’s biggest lead at 10; 17-7. With
no hesitation and seeing the game slip away early, Tech clawed their own 10-0 run at the 12:15 mark to tie the game at 17 apiece. The rest of the half
played out with neither team gaining another commanding lead as the game stayed close going into half time 34-33.

Tech’s all around defense held them in the half as the team combined for 6 steals and caused 12 total turnovers by the Fighting Knights.

Murray and Justin Sedlak (Pezinik, Slovakia) combined for 20 of the 33 points in the first half while Arthur Richardson (Niceville, Fla.) chipped in 8
points.

Despite shooting 52.4% from the field and 62.5% from beyond the arc in the first half, the Panthers went cold in the second half shooting only 33.3% from
the field and 9.1% from three point range. Early on neither team could really find the basket with Lynn going on a 9-5 run six minutes into the second
half. As Tech continued to struggle, Lynn gapped their lead to 10 and eventually to their largest lead of 16 points at 56-40 with 9:10 left in the game.
Over the next six minutes, Tech dug in and battled back to respective grounds trailing by 9 at 63-52 with 3:18 on the clock but the comeback was little to
late as the Fighting Knights recovered to a 12 point lead. Lynn finally finished the game with a 14 point victory over the Panthers at 71-57.

Three Tech players scored in double digits with Sedlak scoring the team high of 15 points; Justin also led the team with 7 rebounds on the night. Murray
combined for 13 points, four assists, and two steals while Arthur Richardson rounded out with 10 points on the night.
