Panthers Finish Sweep of Knights
MELBOURNE, Fla. – Panthers score a total of 18 runs against Lynn University in the Sunshine State Conference double header to improve their conference
record to 6-0. In game one, the Panthers won 9-4 and in game two Tech won 9-1 (mercy rule) in the bottom of sixth inning.
Game one saw the Panthers gather up 18 total hits against the Lynn pitcher scoring 9 runs. In four out the six innings at bat, the Panthers scored at least
one run. Tech would score the first run of the game in the second inning of game two and went on to score a combined four more runs in the next two innings
taking a 4-0 lead into the fourth inning.
Lynn in the fourth would push across two runs as the number seven batter would drive in one run and the next run would come in from third after a past
ball. In the Panthers fourth inning, they would mark a run to go ahead 5-3 off the bat of Kristen Fettes (Deltona, Fla.) driving in the speedy Danielle
Stanley (Garyson, Ga.) at second.
The Knights would charge again in the sixth to score two more runs to be down by one run at 5-4 of off two back to back doubles. With the Panthers awaiting
their turn at bat in the sixth, the Panthers sprung open the game off of two-two homeruns by Jen Wise (Lakeland, Fla.) and Ashley Coleman (Molalla, Org.)
scoring four runs to put the score at 9-4. Tech would close the game out in the seventh taking the game 9-4 over Lynn.
At the plate, Stanley went 5-5 on the afternoon with all but one Tech player getting a hit. Ida Danielson (Fairfield, Ca.) reached the bases with a
fielders choice in the fourth inning while Katie Naumoff (Poland, OH.) pushed Stanley to second off a sac bunt helping the Panthers score the lone run in
the fourth.
Amber West (Apopka, Fla.) on the mound pitched another complete game striking out eight batters allowing six hits and four runs. West improves to 6-6
overall on the season and helps the Panthers improve to 15-11 overall and 5-0 in the conference after game 1.

Game 2
Game two Judith Husband (Wewahitcha, Fla.) improved to 9-2 on the year after pitching six innings in the 9-1 outing over the Knights. Husband throwing for
the Panthers retired 19 of the 22 batters faced getting six strikeouts allowing only three hits and one run; the run scored by Lynn was unearned.
Offensively, the Panthers quickly jumped on the Knights stranding one in the first but in the second, the Panthers would go on to score five consecutive
runs off of four hits in the inning. The Panthers would go on and continue to score two more run in the second off the bat of Ida Danielson (Fairfield,
Ca.) who smashed her first collegiate homerun driving in Ali Wiegand (Tallahassee, Fla.) at first to take a 7-0 lead at the end of three innings.
Lynn in the fourth would score their only run of the game (unearned) as a fielders choice drove in the runner at third from the number five batter in the
Lynn lineup; the scoring runner reached base after striking out on a wild pitch.
Tech would inch closer to close the game in the fifth as a powering line drive directly hit into the center field wall by Ashley Coleman (Molalla, Org.)
drove in Jen Wise (Lakeland, Fla.) from third. Tech would go to close out the game in the sixth scoring the eight run gap needed for the mercy rule off a
line drive single down the left field line by Leah Tymeson (Lincoln University, Pa.) scoring Katie Naumoff (Polanh, Oh.) from third.
The Crimson and Grey took the game in the sixth 9-1 taking their overall record to 16-11 and move to 6-0 in the conference. Next the Panthers will be
traveling up to Lithonia, GA to play in the Clark Atlanta Tournament beginning on March 9th with the first game starting at 1 pm.
