Tamilio Propels Tech Scoring Career High 27 Points

MELBOURNE, Fla.(women’s basketball)- Senior Jennifer Tamilio (Boston, Mass.) launched a personal career record of 27 points en route to an upset of the #2
ranked NCAA II south regional foe Rollins College 55-52 at the Clemente Center this evening. The Florida Tech Panthers, who are currently ranked #4 in the
region, gained a half-game advantage over the Tars with the victory tonight displacing Rollins from their top spot in the Sunshine State Conference while
handing them their first conference loss on the season.

Both teams were recently ranked in the NCAA II south region poll along with
receiving votes in the WBCA DII National Poll this past week. This rivalry usually proves to be one of
the best SSC women’s basketball match-ups of the year. This win now sets the all-time series record to 18-34 for the twenty-plus year rivalry.

Tamilio, who has now led Tech in the past three games; including scoring a season-high 25 points down at Nova Southeastern out did her herself notching her
career high 27 points. She led all scorers slicing up the court with another career-high going 6-for-10 from downtown and 9-for-22 from the field. For this
effort, she propelled herself to leading scorer on the crimson and gray squad averaging 13.7 points per game. Tamilio pulled down eight boards and added
two steals.

Senior Danise Fequiere (Miami, Fla.) was key for the Panthers in the final two minute stretch hitting the final two points of the game from the line for
the tight victory. Fequiere finished with nine points and four rebounds. Junior Kristin Heminger (Merritt Island, Fla.) added eight points and a giant
blocked shot in the final minutes of play.

Local native Jennifer Musgrove (Melbourne, Fla.) led the Tars with fourteen points while teammate and this week’s SSC Player of the Week Laurissa McDonough
(Ormond Beach, Fla.) garnered 12 points and seven rebounds.

Despite getting knocked around under the boards allowing Rollins to out-rebound Tech 46 to 33, the Panthers played tough perimeter defense forcing 21
rebounds an only gave up 13 turnovers for the contest.

Again, Tech’s reservists came through in a huge way tonight scoring 17 bench points to the Tars 13 for the evening. The night saw eleven knotted scores and
the advantage flip-flopped ten times with Tech eventually controlling the scoreboard at the final minute mark.

Rollins falls to a 14-3 overall record and 6-1 in the SSC, while Florida Tech advances to 15-3 on the season and 7-1 in conference play. The Panthers will
be back on the road Monday, January 29th traveling to Tampa to begin the second phase of Sunshine State play with a tip-off time of 5:30 p.m. Remember fans
