Panthers Sent Packing with Nanooks Prevailing 78-68 in 2006 Glacier Classic

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (men’s basketball) — Florida Tech finished off their final game at the 2006 Glacier Classic hosted by Alaska Fairbanks falling 78-68
against the host Alaska Fairbanks Nanooks. Junior starting point-guard E. J. Murray (Rockledge, Fla.) led all Panthers scoring a season high 23 points on
route to a spot on the 2006 Glacier Classic All Tournament team.

Murray finished the Classic averaging 19.0 ppg going 13-for-23 from the field and 6-for13 from the three-point range.

Senior Damien Clark (Orange Park, Fla.) and graduate student Janko Mrksic (Stoney Creek, Ontario) each took to the bench earlier than expected due to
fouling out after the fifth foul for both post players. Mrksic finished with 10 points and seven rebounds, while Clark stepped off the bench contributing
eight of Tech’s points.

Tech was down thirteen points at the half, 31-44 and let the lead extend by to a 20 point deficit to bring the game back to within two possessions at 8:05
on the clock. Coach Mims decided to start almost an entirely different line-up from the normal starters coming out of the locker room.

Murray shared the point with freshman guard Sean Zeller (Merritt Island, Fla.) along with Mrksic and Clark along with freshman Justin Sedlak (Pezinik,
Slovakia).

Starting forward Jod Kelley (McCormick, S.C.) got into foul trouble early in the first period and did not make it back into the game until Mrksic suffered
the same fate in fouls. Kelly finished with 13 points and seven rebounds.

Florida Tech will be back in action on Friday, December 15th when the host Waldorf College at Holy Trinity High School in Viera for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off
time. To follow the game live please check out the webcast at http://gopanthers.fit.edu/stretch.php.
