ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Florida Tech unfortunately was one player shy on the women’s side to pull off the first conference sweep in their short four year
history today against SSC opponent Eckerd. The men pull off their first every victory against Eckerd shutting them down 7-2 in conference play. On the

With ranked player Natalia Ramos still on the injured reserved list after a pre-season surgery and fellow teammate Mandy Rohrbach also out due to injuries,
the Panthers are only playing with five members. Despite the loss, Tech’s #3, #4 and #5 singles each won their first singles bout of the year along with
the #2 doubles pair taking their second win of the year.

Sophomore Nicole David (Ft. Pierce, Fla.) and senior Tania Gay (Caracas, Venezuela) each went undefeated for the day. David and Gay defeated Danielle
Liozzo and Stephanie Bowan 8-4 in doubles action, while David too the #3 singles 6-2, 6-1 and Gay persevered at the #4 spot 6-3, 2-6 (6-2).

tie-breaker after the first set. Junior Michaela Horvathova (Bratislava, Slovakia) freshman Andrea Madrigal (San Jose, Costa Rica) struggled in singles
action against the ranked Mak sisters’ falling 6-7, 6-3 (6-3) and 7-5, 0-6 (7-5) respectively.

Koening and Greg Hokenson 8-5 in the #1 spot. Senior Christian Smith (Arouca, Trinidad) and Jon Hanna (Nassau, Bahamas) shut down Brian Lynch and Jason
Dorfman 8-1. Senior Adam Outlaw (Mobile, Ala.) and David Fowler (St. James, Barbados) paired up for the first time this season made the #3 spot look easy
dominating Adam Skiff and Brian Arbieter of Eckerd 8-1 as well.
