Panthers Sweep Seahawks

SAINT LEO, Fla. – (Volleyball) Florida Tech volleyball improved to 18-9 after rolling over Northwood three games to none at the Saint Leo Invitational
Saturday.

Standouts for the Panthers included Mayne Pegorari with 12 kills, Marcela Vasconcelos with 41 assists and Amy
O’Brien
with 16 digs. Whitney Roberts, Leigh Ann Brown and Frankie Brown added three
blocks each.

Top playmakers for the Seahawks included Rebecka Ohman with six kills, Alyssa Breviario with 22 assists and Danielle Senopole with 11 digs.

Northwood struck first in game one, but Tech took over the lead at four and never looked back. The Panthers out hit the Seahawks .314 to -.029 to win the
game 30-16. Game two was similar, but this time the Panthers seized immediate control scoring seven unanswered points and forcing a Northwood time out. The
Seahawks managed to score a few more points, but the Panthers were nearly flawless at the attack line and took the game 30-16. There was a little more
excitement in game three with Tech in a five point hole throughout the beginning. The Panthers tied up the game at 10, but the Seahawks kept it within two
throughout the teens. The Panthers regained the lead and their composure toward the end to take the game 30-19 and win the match.

The Panthers will return to the Clemente Center and Sunshine State Conference play Wednesday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. to battle No. 13 Florida Southern.
