Panthers Win Tight One in Miami

MELBOURNE, Fla. (Women’s Basketball) – The Florida Tech Panthers won a close one in the rematch against Florida Memorial University on
Monday night when they edged out the Lions by a score of 60-58 to push the Florida Tech record to 5-1.   Despite shooting a lower percentage from the
field, corralling less rebounds and passing for less assists, the Panthers pulled it out thanks to 17 points from freshman guard Lynisha Nelson and 14 from junior guard
Kristin Heminger.
Sophomore forward Lindsay
Greene
led the team in rebounds with nine and six on the offensive glass. Three others had six rebounds.   It was clear that Florida
Memorial was out for revenge after dropping one to the Panthers in Melbourne on November 26. This time the Lions had the support of their home crowd. The
sixth man helped FMU keep it close, but, in the end, they were silenced by the Panthers.   Florida Tech will returns to action December 17, against
the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish. The rematch will be played at 7 p.m. in Melbourne.   BOX SCORE
