What Florida Tech Means to Me, a Testimonial.

by Debbie-Ann Shaw

When I first came to Florida Tech, I really didn’t know what to expect from this university. I knew the classes would be hard sometimes and I would eventually make some friends and have some fun. After getting everything done for the first week of school, I thought I was prepared and this was going to be a breeze. I began to realize that I was wrong and still had a lot of growing up to do. Florida Tech is diverse with various students from all walks of the world and I had never been exposed to this before. I loved it! I was confused and a little afraid at first, but I engaged in everything this school had to offer. Over the three years I’ve been at this school, I’ve been involved in many activities and enjoyed being a part of this community. I helped the drama club with dance pieces for the play in my junior year, went to a national engineering conference in Atlanta in my sophomore year, and joined a management society for business students in my freshmen year. I choose Florida Tech because I love the small classes and the diversity of the student body on campus. I’ve learned so many lessons from this school and the best part is my journey isn’t finish yet. Overall, Florida Tech is a growing university and most of the students would agree this campus is full of culture and diversity.
