Post Season Accomplishments Continue to Add Up for Graduate Steve Condotta
MELBOURNE, Fla. – After being selected as a 1st Team All Sunshine State Conference, 1st Team NCAA ABCA/Rawlings All South Region, and 1st Team Daktronics
All South Region in previous weeks, Steve
Condotta (Mississauga, Ontario) has now been selected as a member of the NCAA/Rawlings All American 3rd Team and the Daktronics All American 3rd Team.
During the 2007 season, Steve hit .431, leading all shortstops in the SSC and South Region. Steve’s .937 fielding percentage was tops for all south
region shortstops and with 42 of 45 stolen bases was the leader for all players in the south region players at all positions.
In the SSC, Condotta finished 2nd in batting average (.431), 1st in stolen bases (42-45), 3rd in on base percentage (.504), and 8th in hits (81); Steve was
also selected as the 2007 Male Scholar Athlete of the Year at Florida Tech.
Statistically, Steve has shattered quite a few records at Florida Tech including Career At Bats (723), Career Hits (257), Career Runs Scored (175), Career
Stolen Bases (76-87), Career sac flies (12), and Single Season Stolen Bases (42-45). Steve’s Career Batting Average (.355) ranks 5th in Florida Tech’s
record book along with Steve’s mark for 10th in Career RBI (111), 4th in Single Season Hits ( 81) and 6th in Single Season HBP (10). Steve also contributed
to setting a new team record for stolen bases this year (113-139).
Currently, Steve has returned home and is awaiting word from Major League Baseball during the Amateur Draft in June.
This is the 2nd year in a row Florida Tech had a player selected on the All American Team. In 2006, Outfielder Jon Baksh was also named as a selection to
the All American Team.
