Sporting Affairs Chopper Dropper Nets 13 Winners

MELBOURNE, FLA. — Florida Tech Sporting Affair’s Sixth Annual Chopper Dropper on March 13 at the Suntree Country Club delivered cash prizes to 13 lucky
winners, including Lisa Holmes, who took the $25,000 grand prize. The event, part of Sporting Affair XVII, raises money for Florida Institute of Technology
athlete scholars.

Exactly 2,000 numbered golf balls were loaded into a helicopter and dropped near the Suntree Country Club clubhouse. Holmes’ ball landed closest to the pin
or flag.

The $10,000 prize for the ball landing second closest to the pin went to Keiran Breslin; the $5,000 prize for third closest was claimed by Shay Rowe. Ten
runner-up prizes of $1,000 each went to Eric Hermansen, Pat Barker, Denise Buchanan, Ray Lucas, Mike Bramlett, Mandy Meyer, Joseph Clouse, Charles Stetson,
David Leap and Tim Craver.

Chopper Dropper participants also had the opportunity to attend and bring a guest to a cocktail reception, sponsored by Audi of Melbourne, and participate
in a live auction and raffle.

Sporting Affair XVII also included a golf tournament with a $1 Million Hole-in-One Shootout sponsored by Berman Hopkins Wright & LaHam and, new this
year, a women’s tennis tournament.

“Sporting Affair was a lot of fun, made some winners very happy and, though we don’t have final figures yet, it was one of the best fund-raisers for
athletic scholarships ever,” said John Thomas, director of athletic partnerships.
