Florida Tech Responds to Help Sandy Victims
Superstorm Sandy has left misery in its wake across the Northeast. Florida Tech is stepping up to lend a hand.
“Civic engagement is fundamental to the philosophy of Florida Tech,” said President and Chief Executive Officer Anthony J. Catanese. “We are eager to help those in need.”
Barry Bartolino, assistant grounds manager for the campus, agreed with many published accounts that it will be a long, slow recovery process.
“I was born and raised in Princeton, N.J., and my entire family is still in Jersey,” Bartolino said. “It’s heartbreaking to see all the people who are suffering. I just want to help.”
Bartolino said he will be among the first to contribute to the campus fundraising effort. The university is currently collecting monetary donations to be given to the American Red Cross.

Contributions, cash or check, may be dropped off at the Development Offices in the Allen S. Henry Building or at multiple sites across campus (list below). Checks should be made payable to “FIT” with “Sandy” on the memo line.
