Psycho-Cinema Presents Stand By Me

– On Friday, Oct. 21, Florida Tech’s film discussion series, Psycho-Cinema: Psychology and the Movies, will present the 1986 film, Stand By Me. The movie
and subsequent discussion will take place in the Evans Library, Room P-133 (separate entrance on side of library).

Stand By Me, starring River Phoenix, Corey Feldman and Kiefer Sutherland, is the highly rated coming-of-age movie and sleeper hit, based on Stephen King’s
novella, The Body. About the joys and pains of boyhood friendship, set in the 1950s, the movie brought early recognition to these young actors.

Florida Tech School of Psychology faculty members Dr. Thomas Peake and Dr. James Oelschlager, and doctoral
students, James Ferro and Ron Daugherty, will be on hand to lead a discussion with the audience. The movie and refreshments are free.

Evans Library is in the center of campus. For more information, call (321) 674-8142.
