Public Invited to Florida Tech Lectures on Innovation and Creativity

– Florida Tech’s Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence will present two speakers in public lectures on May 4 and May 6. The lecturers support the
university’s annual faculty summer institute.

On May 4, 10-11:30 a.m., Rolph Smith of The Thinking Expedition Company in Houston, Texas, will speak on “Exploring Creative Teaching.” Among his published

On May 6, 1:30-2:30 p.m., Barbara Blake, manager of Experiential Programs for Walt Disney Institute, will speak on “Creativity and Innovation-Disney
Style.”

Both lectures are in the Skurla Aeronautics Building, Room A110 and are free to the community.

In the annual institute, which begins the first week of May, seven faculty members will develop projects related to creative teaching, which take advantage
of Florida Tech’s educational technologies capabilities. They will mentor other faculty and share their projects with the campus community during the fall
2004 semester.
