Racing Electric Vehicle to Join Battery Beach Burnout

MELBOURNE, FLA. — One of Florida Tech’s senior design projects, the racing electric vehicle, (REV), will participate in the Battery Beach Burnout at
Countyline Dragway, Miami, Fla., Jan. 25 and 26. The Florida Electric Auto Association, Vectrix and AC Propulsion will host the third annual free event.
The burnout consists of several competitions among electric vehicles, including a drag race, auto-cross and scooter-cross.

The premier annual electric vehicle event in the Southeast, the burnout aims to raise public and media awareness of the current state of electric vehicles
and to educate about “green” alternative fuel vehicles.

The drag race will be Jan. 25, from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. The other events will take place Jan. 26, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visitors will be able to ride in
several of the cars on display and may vote for their favorite car in the show.
