Ron Teixeira Trio Plays at Panthereum

MELBOURNE, FLA — The Ron Teixeira Trio will perform on February 25, from 3 to 6 p.m., in Florida Tech’s new Panthereum. Located on campus, the Panthereum is
off Country Club Road, by the Denius Student Center. There’s a big grassy area there for arranging chairs and blankets. Radio station WFIT 89.5FM, a
service of Florida Tech; the Melbourne-Palm Bay Chamber of Commerce; and Florida Tech present the free event.
Teixeira, on piano, studied at the Berklee School of Music. He is house pianist at Heidi’s Jazz Club, a teacher, composer, arranger, and singer. With
Teixeira will be Ron Pirtle on bass. Pirtle hosts the Sunday night jazz jam at Heidi’s Jazz Club, performs at many WFIT events, and is a “must-see.” Dave
Dunscombe is the drummer.
Featured with the Teixeira Trio is vocalist Linda Cole, a mesmerizing singer whose voice will send chills down your spine. A member of the late Nat “King”
Cole’s extended family, Cole has a quality that has been called both electrifying and spiritual.
The concert is part of International Festival, which takes place from noon to 6 p.m. The festival will offer tastes, sights and sounds from around the
world. International student organizations will exhibit their cultures, provide activities for children, bring in food vendors, and provide entertainment
all day.
