Salois Horst Takes Gold at Embry-Riddle/Smoothie King Classic

DAYTONA, Fla. (Cross Country) – It was the third race of the season that proved to be the charm for Carolyn Salois Horst
as the senior timed in at 20:32.37 to take medalist honors at the Embry-Riddle/Smoothie King Classic Saturday morning. Florida Tech’s women’s cross country
team (120 pts.) came in fourth overall in the 5K race, while the Panther men finished second in the 8K (100 pts.).   Jen Lindsay also
turned in a Top 10 performance for the women, finishing 10th at 21:44.23. On the men’s side, Myles Garza led the pack once
again for the Panthers with a time of 27:51.54 to come in sixth overall.   Embry-Riddle claimed the team trophy on both the men’s and women’s side at
the teams’ home meet, with 21 and 31 points, respectively.   The Panthers head all the way up to Pensacola, Fla., next Saturday for the Gulf Coast
