Seedhouse’s Header Caps Lions 3-2 Come From Behind Victory Over Florida Tech

SAINT LEO, Fla. – Tied 2-2 with 2:58 remaining in the match, Jane Seedhouse came through in a big way for the Lions, heading a ball past Panthers goalie
Erica Wales (Huntsville, AL) for the game-winning goal. The assist came off a corner kick from Kristin Stephens. The goal capped a 2-1 comeback victory
which moved the Lions to 5-3-2 (3-1-1 SSC) while dropping conference foe Florida Tech to 5-5-1 (1-2 SSC).

Saint Leo began the scoring on the afternoon with an unassisted goal by Jennifer O’Connor nine minutes into the match. Florida Tech responded three minutes
later when Kelly Huarte (Manteca, CA) scored her first goal of the match, which came on an assist by Tara Euginedes (Dade City, FL). The duo hooked up
again 16 minutes later, ending the scoring in the first half. Florida Tech outshot the Lions eight to three in the opening period.

In the 63rd minute of the match, a foul on Florida Tech created a scoring opportunity that O’Connor would cash in, finding the back of the net on a penalty
kick. Saint Leo’s rigid defense refused to allow scoring opportunities for the Panthers, permitting only four second half shots.

Florida Tech outshot the Lions 12-11, while Saint Leo won the corner kick battle three to two. The Panthers had seven shots on goal to the Lions four,
