Aromatherapist to Offer Oils Exploration Aug. 5 at Ruth Funk Center for Textile Arts
Presentation Inspired by
Flora and Fiber Exhibition
MELBOURNE, FLA. — The Ruth Funk Center for Textile Arts at Florida Institute of Technology is pleased to present aromatherapist Doreen DeSerres-DuJardin in a special aromatic presentation inspired by its feature exhibition, Flora and Fiber.
From 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, in the Center’s second floor mezzanine, DeSerres-DuJardin, the owner of Nature’s Spirit Distinctive Aromatherapy, will lead guests to experience the fragrance of select oils used in a custom parfum blend she created for the exhibition. They will also learn about the oils’ cultural aspects, aromatic profiles and other properties.
Participants will take away a fragrance test strip and informational hand-outs for each of the oils discussed.
As this is an olfactory experience, it is requested that guests be fragrance-free for this event.
This event is presented in conjunction with Flora and Fiber, on view through Aug. 26. The cost for the lecture is $15 per person for Friends of Textiles members and $20 per person for non-members. Please pre-register by emailing textiles@fit.edu or calling 321-674-6129.
