MELBOURNE, Fla.—Florida Institute of Technology’s Renee Foosaner Education Center will offer Humanities 1010 Creative Arts Practicum Foundations of Drawing I on Wednesdays during the spring 2012 semester, starting Jan. 11.
The course is intended for studio arts minors and others with no previous drawing experience.
The course explores entry-level contour, shading and drawing composition with basic realistic rendering of objects, portraiture, landscape and architecture. Students will learn about graphite, charcoal, pastel and ink drawing media. The class is structured around studio work, lectures and field trips to draw and observe landscape and architecture.
The course offers one Florida Tech humanities credit or may be taken on a non-credit basis at a cost of $325.
