Army ROTC Rangers Take First In Regional Competition…Again

– Members of the Florida Tech Army ROTC Ranger Challenge Team consistently prove their excellence, and this
year is no exception. Just as in the past three years, the team defeated ten other teams including Embry Riddle, the University of Florida, and University
of Tampa, to bring home the regional first place trophy. Of the five events, the Florida Tech team placed first in the Rope Bridge, 6 Mile Full-Equipment
Run, and Weapons Assembly.

The annual Brigade Ranger Challenge competition, held this year at Fort Stewart, Ga., will involve 20 universities from Florida, Georgia, and Puerto Rico.
Over the course of four days, starting Oct. 20, the teams will push themselves to their mental and physical limits while competing in such events as rifle
marksmanship, construction and execution of a one-rope bridge, tactical patrolling, timed disassembly and assembly of an M-16 and a grueling 6.2 mile team
run in full equipment weighing over 35 pounds.

“Last year we took second place overall, with Florida State coming in first,” said Florida Tech team captain Jonathan Logan. The Florida Tech Team has
consistently placed among the top five teams for the past six years.
