Softball Falls 4-0 to Nova Southeastern in SSC Action

MELBOURNE, Fla. (softball) – Florida Tech (34-21), who were recently ranked 7th in the NCAA
DII South Regional Poll
, fell to the unranked Sunshine State Conference Opponent Nova Southeastern University Sharks ( 23-22, 3-7) 4-0 at the Nancy
Bottge field today.

Florida Tech could not string together any of the three hits to score against the Sharks. Freshman pitcher Ida Danielson (Fairfield, Cal.) suffered the 4-0
loss allowing two earned runs on seven hits while fanning two for her seven inning appearance.

Danielson along with senior Katie Naumoff (Poland, Ohio) and junior Jen Wise (Auburndale, Fla.) were the only Panthers to hit safely in the game. Danielson
with a double.

The damage was done early in the top of the first when the Sharks scored their first three runs only one earned. Despite two Tech errors Danielson managed
to finish the inning with only three runs scored.

The Sharks scored on more insurance run in the 6th to a final 4-0 outcome. Adrian Tuttle (Conneaut, Ohio) picked up the win allowing three hits and three
K’s along with two walks for her five innings of work. Reliever Dani Caron (Wellington, Fla.) closed the final two innings for the win.

Both teams will return to action tomorrow when the Panthers host their final SSC game at home with a 1:00 p.m. start of the doubleheader. Tomorrow Tech
will also honor its four senior’s along with NSU’s two senior members during the senior day festivities.
