Spaceport Site Welcomes Nnolim in New Assignment as Director

MELBOURNE, FLA.—Anene L. Nnolim, past director of the Florida Institute of Technology Patuxent Site in Maryland, has accepted a new assignment as director of Florida Tech’s Spaceport Extended Studies Site. Nnolim brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his new appointment. His 34 years of professional and business experience, including seven years in higher education, includes a background in management and leadership in government, telecommunications and information technology in the United States and Canada.

“On this new assignment, I look forward to continue encouraging working adults to pursue a graduate degree at Florida Tech through the Spaceport off-campus site,” said Nnolim. “And with a Florida Tech graduate degree, the working professional would have the appropriate credential to enhance his or her career development efforts.”

Before joining Florida Tech’s Patuxent Site, Nnolim was a visiting assistant professor in information management at Florida Tech’s Nathan M. Bisk College of Business. He also held other adjunct faculty positions with a number of universities including Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, University of Maryland and Lawrence Technological University (LTU) in Detroit, Mich.

From 1979 to 1995, Nnolim worked in Canada for the Government of Ontario and Bell Canada, the country’s largest telecommunications company. At the Government of Ontario, he held several management positions including as a senior manager in the Administration for the Premier’s Council and as a senior policy advisor in the Management Board Secretariat, a policy and decision-making body which manages the government’s fiscal plan. As a manager of financial systems and analysis at Bell Canada, he was responsible for business process re-engineering and implementation of systems applications and new technologies.

Nnolim, a certified Project Management Professional, received his doctor of management degree in information technology from Lawrence Technological University, and Master of Business Administration from Stephen F.Austin State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration fromthe University at Buffalo, The State University of New York. In addition,Nnolim is a graduate of the Program for Public Executives from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada; and holds a certificate in human resources management from the University of Guelph also located in Ontario.
