SSC Rival Barry Shuts Tech Out 3-0

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – The Florida Tech Panthers fell to rival Barry University in three games (30-23, 30-18, and 30-24) today at the Health & Fitness
Center this afternoon.

As Tech battled Barry for the second time this year, the Panthers looked strong through game one answering the Bucs point-for-point until the final seven
in the first set. In the second game, Tech seemed deflated unable to gain momentum losing 30-18. In game three, the Panthers fought through Buccaneer
rallies and cut the lead to two at 20-18 on the scoreboard. Looking like the Panthers were gaining momentum, the Buccaneers stood their ground only to
rally to a 30-24 final.

Leading the Panthers were senior Jenny McCoy (Titusville, Fla.) and junior Jessie Metzger (Oxford, Conn.) on the crimson and gray attack recording eight
kills apiece. Senior Megan Konopnicki (Plano, Texas) and freshman Jessica Davies (Lawrenceville, GA) combined for nine kills; five and four respectively.

Defensively, the outstanding freshman libero, Melissa Reinders (Orlando, Fla.) led with 20 digs for the Panthers. Junior setter, Amanda Boyce (Madison, WI)
came in second with 10 digs; Boyce also led Tech with 28 assists on the match.

The Panthers have a record of 2-20 overall and 0-9 in conference play and will battle Lynn University on Tuesday, October 10th, at 7 pm in Boca Raton.
