Tech Baseball Falls to Buccaneers

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – In the Sunshine State Conference series against the Barry University Buccaneers, the Florida Tech Panthers were put down 11-3 by the
Buccaneers of Barry University.

The Panthers struggled to get any production with the bats as Tech only gathered three hits in the game. Tech’s Sam Palace (Clarkston, Mich.) got the
Panthers first hit with a double in the second inning but nothing followed for the Panthers at the Plate.

Barry put the first run up on the board as the Bucs got their first two hits of the ball game with two doubles in the second inning scoring one run. The
Panthers answered in the third as Nick Brennan (Detroit, Mich.) reached base on a catchers interference and then a walk to Brendan Twomey (Boca Raton,
Fla.) put two on the bases. Steve Condotta (Mississauga, Ontario) knotted in his first of the three RBI with his first single of the game scoring Brennan
from second. Twomey and Condotta in scoring position on second and third would be left stranded as Tech tied the game up.

In the forth inning, the Bucs opened up the game scoring six runs on five hits to take 7-1 lead. Tech would cut into the lead in the fifth as two back to
back walks to Trevor Hearl (Cape Coral, Fla.) and Will Lanier (Jacksonville, Fla.) but two on the bases. Brennan would load the bases as he reached first
from another catcher’s inference call. Again Condotta answered the call driving in two runs with a base hit up the middle scoring the last two runs for the
Panthers.

Barry would put the finishing touches on the game as they scored a run in the seventh inning and three more in the ninth inning to take the final score to
11-3 over the Panthers.

The Panthers three hits came from Sam Palace and two base hits from Steve Condotta who drove in all three Tech runs in the game. The Panthers had chances
at scoring runs but couldn’t produce as they left eight runners on base. On defensive side, the Panthers committed four errors which turned into four runs
for the Bucs in an uncommon melt down for the Florida Tech Panthers.

The Panthers are now 24-12 overall and 8-5 in the SSC and will face the Buccaneers again on Saturday, April 7th in a double header starting at 1pm on the
Feinbloom Field in Miami Shores.
