Students Earn Honors for PBS&J, Harris Jobs

Undergraduate Jenna Landis, a Florida Tech intern at the consulting engineering firm, PBS&J, in Melbourne, has been named Florida Tech Co-op Student of
the Year. Landis, a civil engineering major who will graduate this May, has worked at PBS&J as a technical aid for three years, where she has taken on
increasingly more challenging tasks, including technical writing, drafting and engineering design calculations. Her supervisor is Janet Allen.

Ron Gicka, a computer and electrical engineering major, who works off-campus for Harris Corporation in Melbourne, was named Off-Campus Student Employee of
the Year. Gicka, who plans to graduate in May 2007, is employed as a network engineer. In his nomination of Gicka, his supervisor, Rick Krebs, wrote, “”I
have worked with several interns/new grad engineers and Ron’s level of performance ranks among the top echelon.” Two other Florida Tech student employees
also were singled out for exceptional 2005-2006 service. Each won a scholarship donated by Coca-Cola.

The other winning student employees were: Best Work Study-Ryan Woosley, Evans Library and Department of Marine and Environmental Systems; Best College
Roll-Aurelie Moulin, Clemente Center.

Best departments to work in, as named by student employees, were Office of Undergraduate Admissions, Center Court and the Department of Information
Technology. Marge Richardson, a staff member in the Academic Support Center, won in the Supervisor of the Year category with 12 student nominations.
