Study Abroad

A School of Management student, Krystal Forgenie of Trinidad, West Indies, has been invited to the 2004 Global Young Leaders Summit in Austria, the Czech
Republic and Hungary this summer. She will be attending under a directed study. Ms. Forgenie, whose major is business and environmental studies, is SoM’s
first study abroad student. In 2001 she was a participant in the Global Young Leaders Conference. Ms. Forgenie will be visiting the capital cities of
Vienna, Prague and Budapest with other summit scholars for 13 days of leadership training and cultural exploration. They will meet with government and
business leaders; experience social protocols required of diplomats during embassy visits; participate in a case study in human rights; discuss the impacts
of globalization; and exchange ideas in social, political and economic workshops. The summit seeks college students with strong academic, community service
and leadership potential who have participated in the Global Young Leaders Conference, which is a prerequisite for admission to the summit. A number of
U.S. senators and representatives as well as ambassadors from foreign countries serve as honorary conference board members. The summit is based in
Washington, D.C.
